Over 40’s exercise

Life begins at 40! Get moving towards a more mobile, stable, stronger you!

If you’re over the age of 40, you’ll know that exercise doesn’t seem as effortless as it used to! Your body does strange things and what used to work for you, doesn’t seem to work any more. Your body doesn’t recover as quickly as it used to. You don’t seem to be able to push yourself as hard as you used to. It used to be easy to keep weight off and you could eat whatever you wanted!

Or on the other side of the coin, you haven’t exercised since before the children – you feel like a stranger in your body – what’s happened? Your doctor is talking about you having to do all the tests under the sun and going on a heap of medications… You understand that you have to do something about your health, but don’t know where to start. You’ve seen the biggest loser on TV and quite frankly, that looks scary. Seeing a personal trainer, who is a young, svelte version of a Green Beret is just off-putting – what do they know about aging or your medical condition?

The good news is that I’m on the downhill side of 40 and I can help you to train in a safe, effective and efficient manner without causing injury or blowing you away! I focus on finding movement that works for you. We’ll start gently and build you up to increase your mobility, core stability and then work on your strength. Along the way, if you have any goals, whether they are sporting or personal (doing Kokoda anyone?), we can work together to get a programme to help you achieve that goal.
